Through their exhibitions, educational opportunities, artist studios, art sales and leasing program, and cultural events, Burlington City Arts (BCA) had become the single biggest organizer of the arts in the state of Vermont. Although BCA had been around for more than twenty years, they lacked a platform to voice their story and connect the dots between what they provided, and the cultural richness of the area. In fact, many people failed to realize all the ways they brushed against BCA on a daily basis. For an arts organization that relies on sponsorships and contributions from the surrounding community, modesty isn’t the best policy. I used the annual report to highlight all the things that make BCA an exceptional organization, a vital part of the community, and ultimately an economic driver for the city.
