The Institute of Contemporary Art is the oldest contemporary art organization in Boston. Launching in 1936 with the goal of being the “renegade offspring” of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the ICA was the first museum in Boston to recognize the significance and to exhibit the work of emerging artists and designers such as Paul Gauguin, Le Corbusier, and Andy Warhol. For the ICA’s 75th anniversary and annual Gala, I worked with the development and curatorial departments to produce invitations and a coordinating graphic time line that documented the ICA’s rich and very accomplished past.
